Travelling to France in the care of D-Day Revisited has been a real privilege!

As a young child my family lived near London during WW2 which meant we saw and heard the drone of enemy aircraft heading for the centre, also the whistling of bombs landing around. We spent many nights in the damp concrete Anderson Shelter in our next door neighbours garden. I remember attending school when we could with our gas masks which were constantly around our necks, but if the air raid siren went during a lesson we ran to the school shelters where we hid until the ‘all clear’ sounded.

Travelling to France with John in the care of D-Day Revisited and having the opportunity to share so many of the Veterans’ stories regarding their experiences in WW2 has been a real privilege.
